  1. Daniel 7, 27 and Daniel 12, 1 both communicate to the Hebrew people that if they worship the one God of Daniel that they can look forward to being part of an everlasting kingdom. At the end of time they will be delivered from destruction. This reassurance provides emotional fulfillment for the Hebrews in that they are “special” and will be able to attain everlasting life. To attain this reward they must live according to the one true God’s will (his commandments) which provides a secure form of ethical guidance.

  2. Daniel 3:28 and Daniel 6:22 both show examples where people were rescued by God. This would encourage ethical guidance because the people were rescued because of their faith. This would persuade others to follow God's rules and commandments because these verses show that He was the way to go.

  3. The stories of Daniel in the lions den and Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego are examples of how God will rescue and save His people in times of trouble by believing in Him and coming to Him, even if the rest of the world is against you. This would helped with ethical guidance and emotional fulfillment knowing God is willing to save you. By obeying His Commandments, you will obtain eternal life. This is a very satisfying and encouraging promise God makes to His people.

  4. Daniel 2:4-7 and 3:9-11 describe the positive and negative consequences towards believing in the Lord and telling him you dreams. Those that actively participate will receive blessings, whereas those who turn away shall find themselves in hatred moments before God. I feel as though this is very straight forward; believing in God is more then just saying, but believing and sharing His word.

  5. The whole book of Daniel--his writings and prophecies--serve the primary purpose of reassuring God's people who were in foreign captivity that their present situation was not their final destiny. That helps a lot with E.F.

A good example of E.G. would have to be the lifestyle of Daniel and his three friends Shadrack, Meshack, and Abednigo. Daniel's life is characterized by true faith in God despite the bleak circumstances, dependency on God in every situation, and a consistent prayer life, which is simply talking WITH God (some people think prayer is just talking TO God...but the truth is that prayer is a two way form of communication with God; we talk to him and he talks with us.)

A specific instance of true faith and trust in, and dependency on God by Shadrack Meshack and Abednigo can be seen clearly in these verses after Nebuchadnezzar comes over and says what god will rescue you from my hand?... "O Nebuchadnezzar, we do not need to defend ourselves before you in this matter. If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up." --Daniel 4:13-18

    Daniel 3:28
In this verse it provides ethical guidance because it is telling them to worship one God. In the past we have seen that when a society is worshipping more God's problems occur. It helps unite the society and worship the same God.
4:3 This is an excellent verse which gives them ethical guidance. Its telling the people how wonderful God is and that his kingdom is everlasting. It gives the people a feeling of security that they are in the best hands.

  7. Daniel 1:11-17. This verses prove that Daniel and his friend still have ethical guidence and emotional fullfillment because they have the faith in God that he will help them do get through this ten day challange.

Daniel 12:8-13 God tells Daniel those that have faith and that those who are willing to wait will get the ultimate reward!

  8. In chapter 1: Daniel was given a chance to eat rich and good with the king, but he said no. Other people could do this instaead of watching tv, listening to bad music, or hanging out with bad people. Daniel followed God with his heart and God gave him wisdom, skill, and favor.
In Chapter 5: it says a spirt was found in Daniel and we need to do thesame by working hard and not giving up. We will be victorious.
Chapter 6:explains that people need to trust God and do what he wants and he will protect us. We have to have the courage to be differnt and God will praise you.
Chapter 7: Jesus came to destroy the devil's work and Satan will try to attack, but if you believe in Jesus you will be fine.
I picked these verses becuase they seem important to follow and have a succesfull life.

  9. Daniel 3:28
"Nebuchadnezzar exclaimed, 'Praise to the God of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego! He sent His angel and rescued His servents who trusted in Him. They violated the kings command and risked their lives rather than serve or worship any god except their own God.'"

Again, this is great for emotional fulfillment. These people could believe that their God loved them so much that if they followed only Him, they would be saved from anything. They were valued in His eyes. He didn't want them to die some painful death.

Sure, it isn't necessary great for ones sense of ethical guidance. They did anger their king. At the same time, they brought joy to their King, by having faith that He would save them and by worshiping only Him. They stuck to what they believed in. More often than not, it is difficult to stick to what you believe in because other people are doing something else. God was happy because His people continued to follow Him even when it wasn't convenient...and that saved them from a fiery death. Who wouldn't want to worship a God who cared so much that He would save you from death?

  10. The book of Daniel makes it clear that following the word of God is of superior importance to giving credance to the laws of man. One could say that emotional fulfillment could have been provided to Daniel and his friends through the king's act of choosing them as some of the greatest men in the city (young men without any physical defect, handsome, showing aptitude for every kind of learning, well informed, quick to understand, and qualified to serve in the king's palace. ) But, it is established that Daniel and his friends are not as easily swayed by this form of flattery as his peers as the Bible shows that he avoided the kings rewards (food and wine)for a more difficult purification process (veggies and water) in order to stay loyal to the higher power. The bible shows support and emotfor those with such strong loyalty by declaring that they will be given favor and protection (God had caused the official to show favor and sympathy to Daniel) and in the end have more success and glory than their peers who answer soley to the laws of man and false gods. The emotional fulfillment, in my eyes, comes from the idea that although you may be facing tribulations on earth, your destiny and glory is awaiting you in a place 1000 times more wonderful than those who are having small successes on earth. Daniel faced many trials in his book, but it is clearly demonstrated that he recieved ethical guidance through the laws and teachings of his religion and emotional fulfillment from the promises of eternal life.

  11. Daniel 3:6
"Whoever does not fall down and worship will immediately be thrown into a blazing furnace"

It represent the severe punishment. Compared to 10 recommandations in Deuteronomy, people of ancient Israel give pressure and panelty to make believe the God. It can be represented the strong power of religions in order to get their emotional fulfillment and ethical guidance.

  12. Daniel 4:22-23

"My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions' mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt. Then was the king exceedingly glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel up out of the den. So Daniel was taken up out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God."

I remember this story from when I was a little girl. I thought it was almost magical how God had kept Daniel safe while in the lion's den. I love that Daniel had so much faith in God and how he was protected from harm. This helps me to believe that God will protect me through all things and I definitely think it gave me hope to not fear in scary situations. I think it could have given people ethical guidance and emotional fulfillment in this same way.

  13. Daniel 3: 28-30
In this verse the people are told to believe and worship only one god. That his name should be blessed and be spoken in only terms of respect. This provides ethical guidance to the people, showing them that they should believe in monotheism.
The whole book of Daniel shows that he doesn't give into the kings gifts or rewards and having a strong, stable belief in God that he will reward you in the end eventually.
    Daniel 12:12-13
This passage tells the people to wait, believe in God during your life on Earth and when the time has come you shall stand in front of him. This provided people with ethical guidance because they have something to believe in at the end of their lives and they work all their lives to achieve it.

  14. Holy cow I'm late! The story of the Lions Den is an incredible story of how believing in one God with all your mind can save you. Someone put it to me this way, if you were in a room full of poisenous snakes and the only way to save yourself is to look at a picture of God, God would then save you. As easy as it sounds would you be able to do this? A knee jerk reaction would be to fight off the snakes, but just to stand there and look at a picture and that alone would save you. This sory is alot like this. Daniels beleif in God was so strong that he was able to get out of a lions den!!! This provides, then as with now, a sense of emotional fulfillment knowing that if we just follow what we are told by God, this will happen to us to. If we believe, He will save us no matter what we may find ourselves in!

  15. At least I am doing this right?! I know that it is late, but I hope that it will count towards something.
Daniel 12:10. God will help those that are willing to keep true to themselves and others. Some will say they are being true and try, but fail to completely cleanse themself of the ugliness that they bring upon themself. Only the smart, "wise", will truly be helped is what I believe is being said.

  16. Daniel 3:16-18. This verse proves that Daniel’s three friends keep a firm faith in their God who will help them and protect them get through the blaze. It provides ethical guidance that three friends insist on worshiping one God even though they are threatened with blaze torture. When Nebuchadnezzar asked them to worship his God, their answer is not to show their pride but to declare they are steadfast in their stand. Daniel’s friends present ethical guidance and emotional fulfillment that they believe their God will protect and save them, even if they are not saved, they rather choose death before dishonor. I think it gives us a strong feeling of faith.
